Saad Siddiqui
I work on US–China coordination to reduce extreme risks from advanced AI.
AI may be the most consequential technology in history, and it is being built by the two most powerful, most intertwined countries in the world. If we get this wrong, we could face catastrophic misuse, loss of control over AI systems, dangerous concentrations of power, or conflict between great powers. I want to help bend the US–China AI relationship towards a better future: one where neither side feels forced into conflict, and both take the risks seriously.
I'm a Senior Researcher at the Safe AI Forum (SAIF), where I lead a research team focused on governance, policy and industry coordination. I also support our flagship programme, the International Dialogues on AI Safety, which brings together leading scientists from China and the West. Before SAIF, I was a consultant at Bain & Company and a Schwarzman Scholar in Beijing.
